Victor “Big Vrt” Fontaine Jr. was born in Salisbury, Maryland, and raised in Baltimore, a city that shaped both his vision and his voice. From an early age, he found refuge in creation, sketching his favorite anime characters as a child, unknowingly laying the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of expression.

What began as drawing soon expanded into a deeper calling; music, poetry, tattooing; any medium that allowed him to translate thought into form and emotion into something tangible.

At 18, life forced a shift. Kicked out and navigating the uncertainty of couch-hopping and backpacking, survival became the priority, but art remained the constant. It was more than passion; it was anchor, identity, and currency. What started as a means to survive evolved into a lifestyle and ultimately, a testimony.

Victor’s painting style reflects that journey; raw, expressive, and charged with intention and MISTAKES. His work blends imagination with lived experience, often channeling emotion, energy, and inner conflict into bold visual narratives. Each piece carries a sense of movement and depth, as if capturing not just an image, but a moment of transformation.

Today, Victor stands as both creator and builder. By trade, he works as an electrician, while studying to become an electrical engineer, deepening his understanding of the very force he’s long channeled through his art. As a father of four daughters, his work has taken on even greater meaning. It is no longer just expression, it is legacy.

Rooted in faith, sharpened by discipline, and driven by imagination, Victor’s work exists at the intersection of struggle and transformation. His journey is proof that creation is not just an escape but a force powerful enough to rebuild a life, and inspire others to do the same.
